LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Audrey Betcher reported that the library is gearing up for National Library Week, April 1-7. There will be two ads in the Post Bulletin listing the many events for the week. In response to a suggestion at the last Board meeting we also sent flyers listing the events to the schools for distribution to students.
The library's Volunteer Recognition event will be on April 19, from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Library Auditorium.
At its last meeting, the Library Board approved the expenditure of funds for a demographic analysis of the patron database, conducted by the City/County Planning Department.
PRESIDENT'S REPORT
Frank requested that members think about what type of committee structure, the Board should have. The goal is to have more active committees and possibly not meet as full Board as often.
Potential goals for the Board for the coming year are to identify 10-15 potential donors in addition to Mayo to give the presentation and request for support. The Board also needs to advocate for the library with continued public education, focusing specifically on the City Council and County Board.
REVIEW OF MAYO PRESENTATION
Frank stated that we would like all members to see the presentation and have a tour of the library. Anyone who missed the library tour last week can contact Audrey Betcher and she will schedule one.
Frank turned the meeting over to Michele Martin, Bill Jonason, and John Gisvold who did the presentation put together asking for monetary support from the Mayo Foundation. A preliminary presentation was given last December to Karel Weigle, Dick Edwards, and Ken Schneider. We are awaiting word on a date for a formal presentation.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned for a tour of the building.
Respectfully submitted,
Jean Michaels
Secretary
